Ever wish you could go back in time and be a part Kansas City’s great jazz era, when musical legends like Count Basie and big Joe Turner made 18th and Vine swing? Well, there is still a place you can go to hear great live jazz, Kansas City-Style, and this Thursday, April 28thth at 7:30 pm on 19.1 HD,  KCPT’s new primetime cultural affairs program, THE LOCAL SHOW, takes you there.

Every Saturday night at midnight, the Downtown Marriott and KCUR 89.3 FM Public Radio treat attendees and radio listeners to a late-night mix of sketch comedy, jazz and blues from local entertainers with 12th Street Jump. Free and open to the public,  12th Street Jump  is the perfect fix for some KC Jazz and more, whether youare a night owl who wants to listen in person, or you prefer to  jam in your jammies by the radio dial.
